Real Oakland is a project by Oaklandish that brings the dual meanings of the term "Real Oakland" to bear at the intersection of civic pride and sports. The loss of the Golden State Warriors to San Francisco, the Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas, and now the planned departure of the A's for Las Vegas, cast into relief the ugly side of sports economics where the fans are second class citizens.
