The vision of the Black Panther Party was to uplift and empower the Black community and challenge global injustices.  Its legacy has significantly influenced Oakland's Black community and continues to inspire, educate, and mobilize communities around the world.

From monitoring police violence to providing meals for Black youth, the Black Panther Party is renowned for its focus on empowering and uplifting all Black and oppressed people. Founded in 1966, the Party is deeply rooted in community service, which is demonstrated through over 65 survival programs that have emerged from its initiatives.
