We Are Oaklandish: Cali Cruise's Armando Miranda

Armando Miranda grew up in East Oakland and loved seeing classic cars cruise by, posted up at the lake, making their presence known around The Town. The Oakland car scene has always been as amazing and diverse as its residents, with its lowriders, scrapers, sideshow cars, and donks.

Armando watched the city change over time and decided he never wanted to lose the unique and amazing car culture Oakland provides. So in 2019, he launched a clothing line that reflects and celebrates the car culture he grew up with and teamed up with local artists to create some real homegrown designs.

The Oakland Cruisin tee design was created in collaboration with Oakland resident and fellow lowrider Matt Pardo, conceived by Armando, and brought to life by Matt with his classic vision and artwork.

This iconic celebration of Oakland cars merges the time-honored Cali Cruise lowrider with Oaklandish's classic style. The Oaklandish car club plaque was conceived during a downtown cruise.

Oakland Cruisin' is an ode to keeping car culture alive in Oakland, while Oaklandish has remained a fashion and culture icon in the town!

Oakland is diverse, and Oakland is proud. 'We Are Oaklandish' is a storytelling project to highlight just that.

These stories shed light on the different experiences, memories, and opinions of the people in the city we all love. They are people who give our city its oddball spirit, its passion for justice, and its creative vigor. They lift us with laughter, peace, nourishment, and authentic hard work.

They make us proud to call this town our home. They are Oaklandish.
