Downtown Neighborhood Tee
E'ville Eye x Oaklandish neighborhood collection features designs for North Oakland, West Oakland, Downtown/Lake Merritt, East oakland, Deep East Oakland, and the Oakland Hills.
Downtown Oakland and Lake Merritt neighborhoods include those East of I-980, South of I-580 and West of 14th Avenue. Neighborhoods include Crocker Highlands, Trestle Glen, East Peralta, 5th Ave Marina, Brooklyn Basin, Lakeshore Heights, East Lake, Bella Vista, Ivy Hill, Cleveland Heights, Laney College, Grand Lake, The Gold Coast, Lakeside Park, Adams Point, Pill Hill, Civic Center, Chinatown, City Center, Old Oakland, Oaksterdam, Jack London District, Auto Row, Northgate and Uptown.
Designer Rob Arias is a third generation East Bay native, founder of The E'ville Eye Emeryville-focused news website, and an officer of the Emeryville Historical Society. Rob is a career graphic designer employed by a downtown Oakland headquartered company.
“I’m positive I got some things wrong or omitted a few important neighborhoods,” Arias lamented. “My hope is that in some small way, these tees help document these names for new and longtime residents alike. Without physical reminders acknowledging them, many are in danger of fading into history unless we make a concerted effort to preserve them.” Read more about the design process here.
