To Do in Oakland October 16-18

Hey Oakland, happy Friday!

Here is a quick list of some events happening in Oakland this weekend.

Trailhead, a documentary about East Bay’s nature scene screens tonight at the New Parkway. The event starts at 5:45pm, click here for more info.

Tonight in West Oakland from 6-8pm there’s a Grand Opening Celebration for the West Oakland Youth Center. It’s going down at the WOYC, 3233 Market St., Oakland, CA 94608.


On Friday and Saturday nights, Lake Merritt will be lit! The Autumn Lights Festival is going down. Click here for more info. The event is SOLD OUT of advance tickets, but there will be a very liited number of tickets available at the door both nights.

On Saturday, Oakland own legendary Hip-Hop journalist Davey D is spinning at a Day Party  at 2pm Parliament 811 Washington St.

Felabration: a celebration of Fela’s music is happening at The New Parish on Saturday night.

The Treasure Island Music Fest is Saturday and Sunday, and the list of performers is so long, that we couldn’t fit it into a screenshot! For more info, click here. Our sister brand NeverElsewhere will have a booth there, so check them out if you’re headed to the festival!

Sunday, the East Bay Mini-Maker’s Faire going down in North Oakland at the Studio One Arts Center on 42nd and Opal.

And if you get a chance, drive down Telegraph Ave. and take in that new I Am Oaklandish billboard featuring Oakland’s own Shemar Moore, Adrian Marcel, Raphael Saadiq and Goapele.
