With his newest mixtape ‘The Lock Sessions’ set to release on the Richmond, California, rapper’s birthday, we decided to open our doors and host a free listening party for anyone who supports Lock and his work.
From 5-7pm at our downtown store (1444 Broadway) Locksmith and DJ Nocturnal will preview ‘The Lock Sessions’ with an artist Meet and Greet to follow. This is your best chance to meet one of the most gifted artists in the game today!

Locksmith first came into national focus in 2003 when he appeared on MTV’s Freestyle Battle TV series, making it to the series’ final round. Locksmith, whose birth name is Davood Asgari, paired with rapper Left to form the group Frontline, gaining national attention after the Who R You and Now U Know albums.
Lock called it quits on battle rapping in 2010, embarking on a solo career and a focused path for his music. He dropped four mixtapes between 2010 and 2013, culminating with his first official album A Thousand Cuts released in 2014, shortly followed by his sophomore album Lofty Goals in 2015.
Since then, he has toured and and kept his pen to the pad. ‘The Lock Sessions’ is his newest project, serving as a prelude to his highly anticipated album Olive Branch.
