Oakland Parks, Recreation & Youth Development (OPRYD) provides transformational experiences, and multi-cultural awareness. Serving over 95,000 enrolled participants and over a million drop-in users annually, OPRYD creates empowering park and recreational opportunities, and equitably increase the quality of life for all Oaklanders.
Erected in 1907, Mosswood Park is undoubtedly one of the most well-known parks in the entire city of Oakland. The crown jewel of Mosswood Park’s 11 acres are their basketball courts. Having hosted the like of Jason Kidd, Hook Mitchell, Brian Shaw, and countless of other Town legends, Mosswood’s hoop courts are Oakland icons seen in the same light as the Tribune building, Lake Merritt and even the coliseum.
When we first heard of the fire damage to the Mosswood Park recreation center in November of 2016, we knew there would be an opportunity for us to give back to this unparalleled park and department. Insert our Mosswood Park tee of the recent Town Hoops collection.
Effective immediately, Oaklandish will be donating 10% of the proceeds from every single one of these t-shirts directly back to the city of Oakland’s Parks, Recreation & Youth Development department. As long as the tee is in our stores, and online, we will continue to give back to the department that does so much for this city’s residents.
So thank you for supporting us, and thank you for supporting the city of Oakland.
