Nonprofit of the Month: Cat Town Cafe

Cat Town Cafe has somehow managed to combine cats and coffee to make the world a better place, and that’s why we at Oaklandish are proud to announce them as our Non profit of the Month for August.

Located in Downtown Oakland, Cat Town Cafe is the nation’s first ever cat adoption center worked into a coffee shop business model. Visitors and potential cat adopters can enjoy delicious coffee and pastries while interacting with cute cats in need of homes. It’s a fun, relaxed space that offers a mutually beneficial opportunity for both parties and it supports a great cause.  Since opening their doors in October 2014, Cat Town Cafe has not only created a place of feline appreciation, but has also proudly fostered over 220 cats. In addition, Cat Town Cafe has exemplified our values of innovation and community improvement, securing their place as a winner of our Oaklandish Innovators Award program.

On Saturday, August 29, from 12 pm to 4 pm, Oaklandish’s Dimond shop (3419 Fruitvale Ave.) will be holding an awesome benefit event for Cat Town. Come visit our mobile cat adoption center and check out our brand new and exclusive Cat Town t-shirts, designed and printed in-house at Oaklandish.

10% of the day’s proceeds will go directly to Cat Town Cafe to help in their effort to rehabilitate, shelter, and find permanent homes for Oakland’s most at-risk homeless cats.

What’s better than the unbeatable combo of cats, coffee, and charity? Nothing.
