The apparel line is an extension of a six-year-old street art campaign designed to illuminate the unique culture and history of the East Bay Area. It started out with a poster series, then a digital slide show of folk heros, a pirate drive-in theater downtown, and later a gallery and store (closed Summer '05). The merchandise supports this ongoing public art campaign. And the entire mission is to promote Original Oakland Charm in the face of a constantly mutating landscape, so when you rock the Oaklandish garments you are complicit. So go forth and represent!
